I am currently working as the Creative Producer for Bristol based artist and activist Shrouk El-Attar. My role includes project management & development, building relationships with collaborators and venues, negotiating deals and fees. Alongside this, I am supporting Shrouk with development of future projects and a fundraising strategy.

Shrouk belly dances in drag as a method of protesting her country’s treatment of LGBT+ people, where they are imprisoned and sectioned to mental health asylums. Their work currently spans across activism, drag belly-dance performance, theatre-making and engineering.

Their new performance project DANCING QUEER will bring each of these aspects of their career and life into one artistic experience. With support from Arts Council England, this piece will deliver a period of Research and Development with collaborators across 2023 and 2024.

Shrouk has performed all over the UK, Europe, and in countries as far as Japan and India. Their performances have raised funds for LGBT+ campaigners in Egypt . Shrouk is currently Studio Resident at Pervasive Media Studio’s in Bristol.
